Drill-down Into Back-end Performance Diagnostics
Our experience has shown that many performance problems in AJAX applications have
their root-cause on the server-side. However, looking at the server-side alone does
not help much, because you do not know how the services are being used and which
requests are critical. That means you find yourself often trying to correlate client
with server-side activities, which often takes hours or can be outright impossible,
resulting in guess work and many fix-test iterations.
This is why we have integrated dynaTrace AJAX Edition with dynaTrace's commercial
products, to extend the
PurePath from the server to the browser.
Integrate with dynaTrace to
- Diagnose slow AJAX GUI interactions within the performance of your server systems
(e.g. with AJAX frameworks that run and generate JavaScript code on the server-side)
- Trace all interactions with the AJAX application in your browser end-to-end into
your back-end systems at Java/.NET code-level
- Understand the business context and usage of your back-end services used by your
AJAX application

I was impressed with the value the integration of dynaTrace AJAX Edition with your
server-side Java diagnostics solution provides. It's really unique and enabled me
to quickly diagnose a tricky issue with our Web page. Although it appeared to be
a JavaScript issue of our methods getFromYears and getToYears initially, dynaTrace
quickly showed me that the problem was the combination of the webpage and the server
side implementation of these 2 methods on the server returning the incorrect return
values."
